In the early years of rodeo, many of the bucking horses used were simply wild horses that had been captured and brought to town for the rodeo. As the sport of rodeo grew in popularity, access to quality bucking horses quickly became a concern for all rodeo producers. The need for better horses prompted an innovative group of rodeo producers to begin breeding programs to match Dams and Sires with "buck" in their blood. This match-up produces an offspring that is genetically stronger and better through each generation. At Prime Time Rodeos Inc. we are proud of the fact that 99% of our bucking stock is ranch raised and is "Born to Buck". Many of our horses and bulls have bloodlines that can be traced back to ancestors that competed at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas as well as at the Canadian Finals Rodeo in Edmonton. The offspring from our brood herd are nurtured and developed at home on the ranch, into the finished product you see perform in the rodeo arena. Equally important in rodeo are the long horn cattle used for the timed events. At all Prime Time Rodeo productions we sublease only the best cattle available, ensuring fluid, snappy performance. Timed event cattle play a vital role in rodeo, as they help portray the events that are truly the grassroots of rodeo, while depicting the "working cowboy". |
